MBS Fly Up Day!

This morning we went to MBS for Fly Up Day! Excitement was high and I'm happy to report that everyone has at least one friend in their new class!   Each child spent 45 minutes in their new classroom with their new teacher and classmates.  Fun was had all over the school! After meeting with their new class, we all went to the gymnasium to do the "Papaer Shake" dance with the P.E. teachers.  We had a GREAT morning!!  Here are some pictures from our adventures!

MBS Ambassadors

Today we had a visit from 3 MBS third graders!!  They came to talk about MBS and answer any questions that our students had.  Everyone was really excited and they were instantly put at ease once they learned a little bit about third grade.  Some topics that were covered were: the 4 houses at MBS, homework, the Cafetaria, specials like art, music, library, and P.E., teachers, the playground, field trips, and the first day of school.  Here are some photos from their visit.

 

 

Author Visit with Eileen Christelow!

Today, we had a very special visit from a Vermont Author named Eileen Christelow!!  She has written and illustrated numerous children's books including the "Five Little monkey" series.  She talked about how she decided to become an author, and how she gets her ideas.  She also wanted to create pictures that other readers would really connect with.  She is an amazing writer and the kids had afantastic time listening and watching her draw.  Here are some pictures from her presentation.

Plants!

We have been learning all about plants in Room 9!  We've talked about what a plant needs to survive, as well as the job of each plant part. Yesterday, we planted grass seed and made our own little "chia pets".  We only have 16 days of school left and we have a lot of learning left to do!  Here are some pictures from yesterday!

Voting Day!

Today is the day to vote on the Town and School budgets! Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00p.m. at the white Meeting House.   Please don't forget to get out and VOTE today!!
